Policies & Disclaimers
Cancellation & Refunds: If you purchase a ticket and need to cancel your reservation up to 60 days prior to departure, you will receive a refund for 80 percent of the value of your ticket in the form of travel voucher for a future Executive Rail trip. If you cancel between 60 and 30 days of departure, you will receive a travel voucher for 50 percent of the value of your ticket. No refunds will be given within 30 days of departure. In the event that the entire trip is canceled by Executive Rail, you will receive a full refund of your ticket value.
Advertising & Photos Used On This Site: The original 1940s and 1950s Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) advertising and photos used throughout this website were used by the railroad to promote the “new” postwar Broadway Limited and other trains of the PRR’s Blue-Ribbon Fleet and have been provided with the appropriate source citations. The black & white photographs used on the “Buy Tickets” page are original Pennsylvania Railroad advertising photos from the F. J. Payne private collection. The ads and photos are presented here, unedited, to acknowledge the history of our train and the people who served it, as well as the “dress-up” attire common at that time.
Non-Discrimination Policy: Executive Rail does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, national origin, or any other characteristic – all are welcome aboard our trains.
ADA Compliance: Executive Rail’s passenger cars are not handicap accessible. Historic and vintage rail passenger equipment, like that used by Executive Rail, is exempt from ADA regulations under U.S. Code: Title 42: Section 12184. The passenger cars used on our trains were constructed before disability accessibility laws were adopted. Vestibules, boarding areas, stairs, step-stools, seating, and especially doorways, passageways, aisles, and onboard restrooms may not accommodate all passengers. We will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate differently-abled passengers who desire to ride our trains. If you have a physical disability, please contact us before booking your trip so that we may find the best way to accommodate your needs.
Historic Railcars: The Catalpa Falls, and other passenger cars used by Executive Rail, have been meticulously restored. These renovated cars are privately owned and represent countless hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars in capital investment necessary to maintain and upgrade these vintage rail cars to meet the most stringent of federal safety standards. During your time on board, please be respectful of the historic nature of the railcars and the significant investment they represent.
Connections: As Executive Rail’s trains operate within the consists of regularly-scheduled Amtrak trains, our train is at the mercy of Amtrak’s scheduling and delays. As a result, Executive Rail does not (and cannot) guarantee any connections with other transportation providers. While Amtrak makes every reasonable effort to adhere to its published schedules, unforeseen circumstances may cause delays for either Amtrak’s trains, or those of other transportation providers, that render connections impossible. We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but these circumstances are beyond our control and we accept no liability for a missed connection. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us before booking your trip.
Open Seating: Some Executive Rail passenger cars have table areas that are considered “open seating” for all passengers when not being used for meal service. Please be mindful of the time you spend in these areas and respect your fellow passengers that may want to enjoy the view from your perspective!
Staff Accommodations: Executive Rail passenger cars will be staffed at all times while passengers are aboard the train (including overnight occupancy in passenger car bedrooms). For this purpose, some bedrooms may be reserved for Executive Rail staff and will not be available for reservation by passengers.
